TripEdvisor: Food-Waste-to-Energy Adventure

04/03/2023

Some of our keen learners of English from F.2 and F.3 had an adventure to O.PARK1, Hong Kong’s first organic resources recovery centre, in Siu Ho Wan of Lantau Island with English teachers Mr. Turner and Ms. L. Chan on 4 March.

They learnt about how 200 tonnes of food waste per day could be converted into biogas, a form of renewable energy. Compost is also produced for landscaping and agriculture. They explored the treatment facility with Big Waster and promised they would cherish food and other natural resources from now on.
