2023-2024 English Festival: YY1’s Got Talents – Grand Finale
This year, English Festival arrived in a different fashion. During the English Week, students from different groups selected and rehearsed their own performances of all kinds, ranging from some traditional singing and dancing performances to more complex productions like short plays and mini musicals.
A total of ten teams broke into the final. The Grand Finale kicked off with a recital performed by our 2B’s Bilal who performed brilliantly in the Speech Festival and was awarded Third Place. You can appreciate his performance via the link below:
All the performances were brilliant. I am sure all the students enjoyed such an eventful afternoon. F3Eng_5 came third with their short play – Three Little Pigs. They crafted their own props and ended their short drama with a song, Last Christmas. Surely, their performance has lit up the atmosphere in the hall.
F5D’s performance included a bit of everything such as choral singing, line dancing and a highly sophisticated rap performed by Roshan. The hall was rocked by such a rhythmic display of sounds and actions. In the end, they came second to another dramatic performance.
The champion was F2Eng_5, who wrote the script of their performance. Everyone had a role to play in the act. Their costumes and backdrops have never overshadowed their acting performances. Cinderella was performed surprisingly well by the lead actor whose action and voice control have literally brought the character to life.
Thanks to all the efforts from the teams and teachers who have helped make this English Festival a meaningful and cheerful event before the Christmas Holiday.
